Default Superlines snapping

om...
I thought my search for the "vonderline" was over. I put some Stren on and
it performed very well. ....Until yesterday when the specter of ALL prior
superlines came back.

I usually cast a long way with a very strong "snap" of my wrist. It is
necessary here on the TX Gulf coast and beside, I like it! Yesterday, I
SNAPPED a spinnerbait right off of the line.

Over the years, I've lost more lures during casting with ANY superline

then
I ever lost with any mono. I know that mono gives me some stretch, so my

big
SNAP cast (when I get a backlash) doesn't always break off.

Am I the only guy with this complaint about Superlines? I'm using 30 lb

with
8 lb diameter. I usually use ten pound mono???
Thanks ,

Hey Rich,

I've had this happen to me on occasion, but usually only with some pretty
heavy muskie lures. It could be the knot slipping, it could be that you had
a weak spot (i.e. nick) in the line, or you simply have that powerful of a
cast that the shock was too much for the 30 pound line. Breaking strength
is usually tested by slowly loading a line until it breaks, but a sudden
shock could part it.

Don't let it get you down, I'm not saying that PowerPro (or any superline
for that matter) is perfect, there are some problems associated with the
line, but I have less problems with braids than other lines.
