Hi All,

Moving to Michigan soon, really want to learn to fly fish and how to
tie my own, any info anyone can point me to that will help me in this
venture would be greatly appreaited.

First, follow Stan's advice. I've done some of that myself and it hasn't
hurt. . . much. ;-)

IMHO, you're better off buying the flies you need from local shops
during your first season. This serves several purposes. It'll get you
into the fly shops and getting to know the "whens and wheres" from the
local shop owners. Pay for that advice by buying their flies and gear.
You find out which patterns work best and, therefore, which ones you'll
want to tie. It will also get you out on the water faster and with less
aggravation. Learn how to cast and fish with the store-boughts and then
learn to tie as Stan prescribed next winter.
