I can't match that brag. Lost a bright orange San Juan worm in a bush over
the weekend, fishing the "Miracle Mile" of the North Platte river in
Wyoming. Never caught a fish either. Beautiful weather though.


I have this mad urge to cast as close as possible to vegetative
obstructions, preferably across an unwadeable current. It's like I'm
thinking that the most perilous cast is the one most likely to catch a
fish. If I lose a nymph or two to some deep, unseen log, I'll usually
re-rig as fast as I can and try the same drift. I get hung up a lot.
