This newsgroup isn't well frequented. you'd be better off signing up to =
a fishing forum where you are likely to get all the help you need. =
www.fishingmagic.com is a good, friendly one - there are many others.
As for being quiet - fish don't 'hear' like us so normal conversation =
won't bother them. But they do feel vibrations so don't clump about, or =
drop heavy things on the bank etc? =20

Hi all,
I've been invited carp fishing by three avid fisher-people to Orchid =
lakes
( http://www.orchid-lakes.com/ ) in Cambridgeshire for a long weekend.
I haven't been fishing for over thirty years and have no idea what to
expect - the others are so full of enthusiasm!

My question is this; what do I NOT do? My only experience of =
fisherfolk is
as a canoeist - I don't want to upset these friends by my ignorance of =
the
sport as I did when canoeing.
Should I be very quiet near their rods? Would carp hear footsteps on =
the
bank and scarper? Do we only fish in the daylight or throughout the =
night?
Are there definate no-no's when fishing?

I know I should ask my pals these questions, but they take the mick =
out of
me for being blonde enough as it is!

Thank you,
