I remember that, too. Has it really been closed for 24 months, as the
article implies? If a big section of the river has been closed to boats
for two years, the fishing could be spectacular.

I might be wrong, but I don't believe the boat launch at Ora has been
closed. There has been some access changes at that spot because of true
abuses to land owner's property. But, I'm nearly certain that boats can
still be launched at Ora, but maybe differently than in the past.

The water from Aston Dam down to Vernon is closed except in general season
..... which would mean that the Ora launch would be closed then too, so maybe
you were there in the closed period?

The new access is just a little down stream from Vernon bridge in an area
that has been used for years but without any developed parking or ramp.
The spot just upstream from the bridge that was used by boaters ( not really
a developed ramp ) will be closed as it was on private land. The new ramp
and parking definitely don't open up any places that have been closed.

I believe rw's dreams of fishing areas that have been closed are just that
.... dreams g .... the 24 months was a reference to the time period that
has seen access tensions really building, not a period of actual closure
The only true closure has been Seely's takeout downstream of both bridges
..... and that was recently not two years ago
