Thanks JR. I'll have to give that area a try sometime. I usually have a
day or 2 to mess around before the float, but usually go to the Metolius for
Fall River.

It's that part of the river below the upper Deschutes and above the lower
Deschutes. :-)

Actually, there's some disagreement in the popular mind just where the
middle D begins. Generally, everyone agrees that it ends at Lake Billy
Chinook and the lower river begins at the outlet of Lake Simtustus. The
part you've floated is the top end of the lower river.

Many folks talk about the middle D beginning at Bend, others talk about it
beginning higher up, at the outlet of Wickiup Reservoir, and still others
think it it's everything between Crane Prairie Reservoir and Lake Billy
Chinook.

The place I fished is between Bend and Terrebonne.
