I'm sure one of our resident Georgians will reply, but I know there are
some trout streams in north Georgia. Noontootla comes to mind, as much for
its name as anything else. Check out:

Just stay the hell away from North Carolina - nothing up there worth the
license fee. And, even worse, it's full of . . . NORTH CAROLINIANS!!!
Damned people up there don't do anything except whistle "Dixie" and talk
about Zeb Vance. No fly fishing worth the word - so stay away!!

Bob's advice about NGTO is good, but the Noontootla isn't the place to go to
shake the dust off your gear. That's tough water. The Toccoa or the
Chatooga or the Chattahoochee would be better alternatives for catching
fish, although none are as pretty as the Noontootla. If you live in metro
Atlanta, the Hooch from below Buford dam to Morgan Falls dam is all you
need. Go to Island Ford or Jones Bridge. You'll find trout AND a bikini
hatch. Rest assured none of the women you will lust after attend Ga Tech.

Spend a couple of hours on the website Bob listed and you'll have enough
information for a good start.
