I have got a 12ft carp rod, a leeda merit 30 reel and a huge carp landing

Gonna go out tomorrow and get the rest of the bits and bobs I need to get us
all going on the Grand Union canal thats about 3 mins stroll from our house
in Milton Keynes.

My main worry is that we will catch nothing and they will lose interest and
slate Dad for being rubbish!! Regardless of whether the lads wanna take it
up or not I'm gonna stick with it and hopefully learn enough to get a few
out. Then maybe they'll get more out of it as a pastime.

Any advice on techniques would be good...

Either way, i'll give you all the score when we're done... So fingers
crossed for some good news and a good days fishing!!

dear andy

i have been fishing for two weeks and i caught my first fish with a little hook a maggot and a rod rest and so have my children i have my own rod now but my children use bits of a rod with a bit of line on the end and they catch fish all the time just from the edge of the bank i wish you all the luck in the world as i was estatic when i caught for the first time your lads will love it and when they see there first fish and they will catch one they will love it too. all the best lady t. oh use maggots as i found that in the canal the fish are really into them.
