What do you all think of using scents to attract/catch bass? I have a buddy
who likes to use a scent stick (like a chapstick) on crank baits and other
unscented lures. Do you think it makes a difference? If yes what are your
favorite "flavors" ?

Personally I think they make a difference. I will say this first, I am
on the Pro Cure pro-staff (http://www.pro-cure.com) , but it was only
because I used their products before I pursued them as a sponsor. With
that said, they have both a paste and an oil type product. The paste is
perfect for crankbaits. You can run the back hook through the paste.
YOu get about 10 casts before you have to reapply usually.

My favorite scents for this body of water are Gizzard Shad, Leech, and
of course crayfish. I have both crayfish and gizzard shad paste, and
all 3 scents in oils.

Match the hatch I guess. I figure as long as scents don't deture bites,
I will continue to use them.

Hope this helps.
