It was the only floatant I had in this (my spare) vest. Since I was
fully prepared to hate the experience, I didn't take my "A" game or
equipment.

Just started last year. Still have a lot to learn. I went as a favor
to a buddy, fully expecting to pull out a book and drink bourbon most
of the day, so I didn't expect to need much else.
