Last year, we caught just the tail-end of the salmon fly hatch at the
western clave. AIR, IIRC, AFAIK, and IYCFTOTKMY, the fish weren't interested
in much else when the big bugs were on the water. Luckily for me, Willi had
tied up some monstrous, sparrow-sized flies to match the naturals. If you're
reading, Willi, and you don't mind, you might post the recipe on ROFFT.
Failing that, and supposing the salmon flies are there this year, what are
the recommended flies for these bugs?
