| I am working with my local Lake Home Owners association on a large
| scale carp removal project using electrofishing. Before I get flamed,
| let me say that I enjoy carp fishing also. Its just that our lake has
| become overrun with them, and we would like to restore some balance.
| Anyway, I would like to see the carp go to good use, instead of just
| going to a landfill.

| We are located in mid-Maryland (Frederick county). I would guess that
| we will be able to remove about 2-3,000 fish, average weight maybe 3-5
| lbs. I have the supplies to build holding pens to hold them live (for
| a limited time)until someone can come pick them up.

I hope you have contacted Maryland's Fish & Game dep't. to make sure your project using
electrofishing is legal.

If it is legal, I think you should contact homeless and/or organizations that represent the
poor for the prospect of the carp to be supplied to them as food.
