2 lb....big guy?
You know, any fish you catch is a good one. A 2lb bass is always welcome.
I know I was out fishing with my kids a couple weeks ago for stripers. Here
in the river they run 6-13 inches. We caught about 50 of them, and we had a
blast catching them. We kept four of the larger ones, and I took some
pictures. The other day I was talking to some guys at the local tackle shop
about the fun morning we had, and some bozo decided to sneer down his nose
at us and comment on how they used to catch huge stripers in the river
around here. What a jack ass. I have caught big stripers too. I fished
Powell when the average schoolie was ten pounds, and bigger ones were not
uncommon, but they don't run that big currently in the lower Colorado river
near Yuma. Even the big Canyon Lakes like Powel and Mead are so over
populated by them that its really hard to catch many decent ones. BUT we
were out there catching fish and having fun. We were catching the fish that
were there to catch. So, there is not a darned thing wrong with a two pound
bass. Give me 5 of them in a tournament and I'll finish in the top half of
the pack most days.
