Hi all,

Does anyone on this list ever fish Stockport Fed's stretch of the Goyt?
Chatting to a member recently, I found out they have five miles or so,
and the trout and grayling fishing is meant to be decent. It's Only c.
£25 for a year, so I'm tempted to give it a shot but knowing a little
of the Goyt's polluted past, I'm a little hesitant to part with the
readies before I know what the fishing's like.

TIA
Nick

If you fancy a paddle pop down to Tiviot Dale thats opposite the new Tesco's
park up and walk through the hedge then up the river until you see a line
of poplars lining the bankside of the path just before this there is a
gravel bar you can wade here - cast upstream along the streamer weed and
down across the bar into the streamy water -you have a chance of either Chub
or Brownies I have to add I have seen the Trout (estimate average around 1
1/2lb ) crossing the bar but never caught one yet that said float fishing
downstream I have hit a few very big fish that came off very quickly
