Here it is. This past weekend I had 2 tournaments. I did well both
days taking 1st and 2nd respectively. That's not the problem. Toward the
end of each tournament, I got into a big fish, both over 3 pounds. Both
times they took my senko at the end of a long cast, I set the hook, and they
both jumped and shook me out. The problem is that I think my hookset isn't
getting the job done with 10 pound test at 130 feet, too much stretch.
Now I've decided to go with some Power Pro to improve my long distance
hookset, but I'd like to use a leader of copolymer line that I have. Here's
the problem, when I tie a blood knot, the slippery co-polymer line slides
right out. Is there a knot I can use that's easy and will connect a slick
line with braid? If I lose a fish because my knot slipped out I'll really
be upset. I have some 20 pounds to make up to get back to the top 6 and I
only have 5 more tournaments to do it. I can't afford to lose another 7
pounds in the next 2 tournaments. Any help?

Rich, uni 2 uni worked like a charm for me when I still felt the need
to use a leader. I've busted flouro leaders at the hook on a hookset
but never had one slip or cut where I joined the two lines. Just make
sure you moisten the knots before you cinch them up, I have cut the
leader cinching up a dry knot.
