The boat cleat suggestion was by me Bob, the foot on the line while over top
of the cleat is a very, very important part of the technique. Try more wraps
too.The deck shoe should be of the grippy type. Another way, for spinning
reels, is to reel in tight while pointing the rod tip at the snagg and the
rod well under the surface and only holding the reel skirt in your palm with
a closed hand, nothing else, and just pulling. You can put a hell of a lot
of strain on the line till it lets go like this.

Super braid. I had to do a couple over and back ties to get it to work.
Then it broke at the cleat instead of at the bait. I think I'll stick
with
my piece of shovel handle wrapped with duct tape.
