Hey guys, I am going to take this in to get it looked at, but I wanted to
throw it out here as well. For some reason, and this just started
happening, as I am running, and trim up the motor a bit, the boat seems to
sway , even in small chop. Almost like it is out of control a bit. It
almost feels like I am floating on the water and swaying.
For those who do not know, I have a 1989 Ranger 354V with a 2004 Yamaha
Vmax 150 (not HPDI).
Sounds to me like you're getting chine walk. Now that your motor is fully
broken in, you're feeling the full benefit of the motor's horsepower. The
boat is running high on the pad and you're running a fine balancing act with
the hull on a small surface. Any air turbulance under the hull or
irregularity in the water's surface will cause the boat to do that. My
ProCraft did that all the time.
Try trimming down just a bit or reduce the throttle a tad and the problem
should go away.
