Do any of you use the self inflating life jackets? If so what type and why?
Do you have any problems with them inflating while its raining? I've got to
start using something like this and don't want junk so to speak. Thanks,

YEP, I use the Sospenders brand that are manual and self inflating for
many years. I have fished in some heavy rainstorms and never had it
self inflate but this last spring at the MTC I threw it in the back of
someones pickup when I got in to back it down the ramp. I did not pay
attention to the fact that the front of the pickup was lower than the
back and the back was full of water. Well, you guessed it. When the
water went rushing to the back it hit the life jacket and it inflated
nice as could be. When I bought mine I bought an extra re-arming kit
with it. Mine came with an extra cartridge but not with an extra
little water activated tablet that makes it self inflating, that is
part of the re-arming kit.

I would not be without the self inflating version. I am too clumsy to
chance sinking while trying to find the pull tag :}
