Thanks for the info. I took a look at the weekend while the missus was
running round Tesco! I couldn't see the gravel bar you mentioned.
Walking upstream on the south bank, I came first to a right-hand bend
with a sandy bank, then a footbridge, then a small island, then the
weir. I saw some small trout just upstream of the footbridge, and a
Kingfisher. Where is your gravel bar in relation to those things?
