Shimano Scorpion, light lures are real easy to cast. I have 4 of them and
can throw just about anything with them

Never heard the words "light" and "baitcaster" used in the same
sentence....

that I can put on a light baitcasting rod, and throw light weight
lures - like 1/4 oz max.
I've been fishing small streams most the summer, and have found
I can cast much more accurately w/ bait cast (ie in to / along brush
than I can w/ spinning gear. I've been using my "regular" weight
rods and reels, but am now looking for something lighter.
Recommendations?
Thanks
Jim
Dave Willhide and Hammer can both cast light poppers on baitcasting reels
as far and as accurately as I can with spinning tackle. Hammer uses a
Shimano Curado 200BSF. Not sure what Dave was using when I fished with
him. Joe Scmidt also does pretty well. He also uses the 200BSF, but I
know Joe also tweaks his reels and relubes them with Hot Sauce every
outing.
