I have always fished on the bottom for cat. But up here in Washington
everyone fish's with bobbers and seems to do real well anyone else have
these results?

At the beginning of summer the river I fish for cats in was constantly
changing depth by several feet due to snow runoff and the varying amounts
of flow let out at a dam upstream.. one week I would find my favorite spot
on shore several feet from the water's edge, the next week it might be
underwater.. I switched to using a 'bobber with a brain' (you can google
for it) a bobber that knows when your bait bottoms out and then sets itself
at the right depth. I did catch less cats, but I think it was due to the
varying currents more than switching to bobbers. Normally bobber fishing
for cats works well for me. Good luck.
