Default Minn Kota and Humminbird merge

Johnson Outdooors (JOUT) has done a great job of making money for it's
shareholders during a fairly rocky economy. When I bought at $6 - many
industry folks were not high on them. Today's news didn't bring much of
a change in the stock price, but the market was down overall. I think
they closed at $19 - 20 a share today

As most on this group know, outdoor stocks like Garmin, Johnson, have
done very well over the last 2 years and will continue doing well
because more and more people are returning to the outdoors.

This gives Minkota a product to line up against MotorGuide/Pinpoint --
and a lot of former Pin Point owners are looking for new gear and won't
buy the MotorGuide version.....

I'd look for Johnson to hit $30

(PS, I know this isn't a stock board -- but it relates to bass fishing
in that if you make money in the market, you can buy more of Huber's and
Rodmaker's rods, more of Gil's craws and more of those Secret Weapon
thingy's. Maybe even a boomerang!

Look at it this way ... if Humminbird had bought MinnKota you might have a
problem , but maybe with it the other way around the Humm's will get better
..... it could happen !!

Tis the season!

RACINE - Johnson Outdoors has bought Techsonic Industries, a maker of
underwater sonar and video viewing and GPS technologies.

With the $28 million purchase from Teleflex, announced Thursday,
Johnson Outdoors adds the Humminbird brand to its marine electronics
group. Humminbird makes fish finders and other consumer electronics
such as global positioning systems. It also makes components used in
the manufacture of underwater video equipment.

Analysts estimate Techsonic's sales last year at $35 million to $40
million.

Racine-based Johnson Outdoors makes trolling motors and accessories
sold under the Minn Kota name. With the purchase, it expects to have
more than $100 million in annual sales from Minn Kota and Humminbird
combined from a total market with more than $300 million in annual
sales.

The company's announcement said the deal "reinforces the company's
strategic focus on acquisitions that complement its businesses, have
market-leading potential and strengthen profitability."
