guides straight. Are there any suggestions for getting them on

Tape on all the guides before wrapping them, and move them around till
you're satisfied. A taut string might help you align them (at least if the
blank is perfectly straight). If your using two-foot guides, tape both
feet. Remove tape on one foot to wrap, then remove the tape on the other
foot to complete the wrap.
