I am going to Silver Creek the second week of October. If anyone would
be so kind as to give me advice on patterns and sizes

You'll love it, I was there last Fall ...bring your longjohns :-)

Sandy and rw have covered it well.

But an item not covered by the others ( Sandy's 'itty bitty' suggests
it )

#24 "Tiny Western Olive" ties. These came off daily after the 'big' #20
baetis and produced very tough fishing, in the afternoon. They were a
distinct bright green and tiny .... The fish wouldn't touch the, to me
anyway, 'standard' gray/olive baetis patterns ...probably a size thing, but
if you're going to tie for a specific bug why not match it as well as
possible ... bright 'insect green' thorax ... and truly 'itty bitty'

I just tied tiny CDC Sparkle Duns, an RS2 style tie, and a CDC dun pattern.
The wings of this 'TWO' are very light gray almost white and I fished the
dun tie mainly cause I could see it. I caught fish, but mumbled to myself
a lot, too.
