I like it, too. Never yet had a chance, when in the woods, to say, I
saw an elk and many of that ilk.
Someone try it at Yellowstone if there's a Clave there again next
year, with a bunch of tourons around sometime and wait for the
question, "What kind of animal is an ilk?" or, "I thought a bunch of
elk were called a herd."
