Default MONTANA 2006 - PING ROGER and RIVERMAN

OK then... i guess everyone should plan on July 8-15 for the weeklong
get together in Montana on the Madison (west of West Yellowstone and
Hebgen Lake). I suggest making reservations as early as possible. The
Slide Inn requires a 50% deposit, which is refundable up to 30 days in
advance of the reservation date. It has cooking and non-cooking
cabins... nightly rates range from $80 for a single or couple (as in one
bed couple), $90 for to noncooking double, and 100 for cooking/double.
All are non-smoking, no pets. There are several other places in the
area, but it all fills up fast. I know warren and some others have
extra tents or camping stuff, and camping is around $11-15 a night as I
recall. Yellowstone has some decent "cabins" with double beds in all of
its major hotel areas, and the cost is very reasonable. Those are
booked through some agent - Xterra, I think...but you can find info by
googling Yellowstone lodging.

So, I guess it's on...

Jeff,

That date sounds OK for me. I will plan to go to the US to do some
flyfishing this summer. I guess I would have to look at my finances and
see whether I can do both Montana and Penns, otherwise I think that I
will try for Montana (after all, even Tom L. thought that would be the
wisest choice.).
How soon would I have to reserve a room and where? Could I have someone
help me with this? I also need to know costs and other things like
where to fly and if someone might be able to give me a lift from that
airport.
It's a bit difficult for me to plan all, since I'm not at home but in
Japan, but I will work on it.
