and...i'm a no-go for penns too, so let's plan a slickrock jaunt. as i
recall, opie's got a big tent and bunches of camping stuff, he can carry a
refrigerator full of beer, and he doesn't drink. ...perfect traveling
companion. g

It's amazing how one's mind becomes rejuvenated after a year and a half of
abstinence; so for future reference, I don't carry no one's beer no mo! And
another thing! I quit smokin' on my B-day and am capable of climbing tall
ridges in a single bound now!
Seriously, while I won't carry anyone's libations, I do have a gob of
campin' gear and the desire to do some hikin' and campin'. Let's plan a
campin' trip somewhere in the state this year. I won't be able to go outta
state this year, as I expect to have back surgery in the near future, but I
expect to be able to camp and fish in state.
I finally broke down and bought myself a decent magnifying /lamp combo, for
tie flying. I stumble on AC Moore's Art and Crafts Store, in Hickory and
the carry the Daylight (ultra-thin--1.75X) brand. It has a 6 or 7 inch dia.
magnifying glass, and a fluorescent lamp works great. They wanted $149.00
for it, but when I looked as if I was about to go elsewhere a stare
attendant said that she would knock 50% off of it. I had looked all over
Lenoir for a good comb, but ended up at Lowe's Hardware and bought a POS
that I returned today, as the lamp head wouldn't stay in place and the
magnifying glass distorted everything under it, terribly?
Anyway, I'm well on my way to having enough flyz tied for the swap that I
may just go ahead and tie a bonus fly for all the swappers. I settled on a
Hex Spinner Extended-body Mayfly, let's fish!
