I see they've progressed at Winn-Dixie, since my youth....
Well, I figure that if the good folks from up in Pottsville(about 32 miles
away, or thereabouts, from where I am typing) can gouge the deep-south
"domestic import" crowd for, lessee, $28 a case, they should have the
wherewithall to underwrite the $1.00 pints on tap at the Sportsman's Club.
I am glad to see you had access to it, and if you haven't tried it, check
out the Black and Tan. Great story, thanks, and the by-line caught my
attention!
Scurrilous as they come,
Tom
Haven't tried the BnT yet, but I'll be in Mobile in the next few days,
so I'll have a go at it. I looked at a WD Marketplace in MS (less than
30 miles from the one in Mobile, which has a Yuengling distributor
according to the website), and while they did have a "Carpetbagger"
section and all, no evidence of Yuengling in it or any other area. I
know liquor in MS is purchased through the State, but don't know about
beer or how that might affect availability.
BTW, as to the BnT - am I supposed to be impressed or repulsed? I mean,
"check it out" as in, "Holy ****! Check out the tata's on this month's
centerfold" or "Holy ****! Check out the...um, er, well, I think those
were tatas at some point...on Bea Arthur...HELP! I'M BLIND!!"
