As Steve walker replied, £150 is more than enough to get back in the
swing of fishing. In fact one benefit to come from your 10 years away
is that the supply of rods etc has become even more competitive and
therfore kit is even better value.

my own suggestion would be that before spending even a penny, I would
go tthe lake you have in mind and have a chat with a few people who
look like they might know the water well. You may find the fishing has
changed and, your interst in which you would like to catch has changed
as well. This will have an effect on the type of rod you would need....
On the other hand, if like me, you get as much enjoyment by sitting
there and day dreaming as you do from catching fish, then pop into your
local tackle shop and spend no more than £50 total and spend this
first season just learning how to relax again by the water!
