Default Motor question

Hi everyone,

I was sitting here looking thru Hurricane Katrina Salvage, and most of
these boats say "Engine submerged, seized up". How hard would it be to
rebuild say a 150 Johnson or Evinrude motor that's been submerged? I do
have a little better then general knowledge when it comes to car engines,
but not outboards. I know some of you have dropped an engine or two off
the rear of your boats!! Just admit it and you'll be glad you got it off
your chest. I sunk a 6 horse before but I just turned it in at the marina
and $200 later, back in action.

Is that something better left to the pro's, or can an avid
do-it-yourselfer do it with some diligence and time? Anyone have about an
average cost to have one professionally rebuilt?

Thanks for you're time,

Doug

I think the major problem with the motors, is they have been setting a long
time after sinking. So lots of time for rust to work it's magic.
