Was pleasantly surprised to find that a good number of forum
regulars came out on the water as well.
Would be superfluous to say, I reckon, that a bunch of folks had a
bunch of fun today.....
I guess I'm obviously just not internet forum get together ( 'clave,'
'bash,' 'rondi' etc ) material ... taking pictures of people taking pictures
of people watching people fish, is just two or three steps too vicarious for
my tastes G
My wife and I are discussing leaving here ( upper-mid-Calif ) around the
middle of May and making our way to Yellowstone via Bend, Pasco,Wa ( my
birthplace but I left at age 10months and have never been back ), Spokane,
the upper segment of Idaho (which is one section I've never visited) and
maybe Glacier NP ( which we've both been to, but not for years ). We'd take
a couple weeks to get to my destination then she'd fly home to leave me to
my summer of whatever it is that I do all summer.
Anywho, is the Bend area fishing likely to be worth a couple layover days,
in mid-May? I'm not planning to start fishing until after my gorgeous
bride flies back home and I get to Jellystone about June 1, but, I might
make an exception G
I would fish the Metolius and the Fall rivers both are spring fed and
not affected much by spring run offs. The Deschutes and John Day are
near enough and are allways worth a shot. westfly.com is a fair source
of information. There are some lakes somewhere near Bend where you can
pay $400 a day and catch rainbows that look like watermelons with fins.
