Cheney shoots someone (I'm not kidding)
"Ken Fortenberry"
Yeah, but it's not like real wing shooting either if the ones
in New York state are anything like the ones here in Illinois.
Around here you pay for X amount of birds, X amount of birds
are taken out of their pens and planted in a field, and X
amount of birds are shot, one way or the other. They may as
well be fenced in for all the chance they have. I won't hunt
pheasant at one of those places.

I wouldn't care to either-generally. However when we lived in So.
Kalifornia I got the hots to go bird hunting- dog and all. Thus we acquired
Jack the weimereiner. Jack and I worked hard on training- as much as you
can in the city- no dizzied pigeons for instance. Finally, his first bird
season- desert quail in Kalifornia- yippee here we go! Some months later,
with torn feet, yucca plant needles firmly ensconced in our flesh, and even
waist deep snow drifts in some washes after a freak storm-I finally had to
admit that wild quail were pretty much a bull****. Jack earned his birds so
I took him to a pheasant farm so he (and I) could see what a real game bird
looked like. H earned it, we had a good day, it was fun - as a package.
Would I rather wander around natural BLM lands and hunt (introduced of
course) ringnecks-absolutely.
