I have a Daiwa Baitcaster I bought last year from Wally World for 69.95.
I
haven't used it much this year because I have been busy wearing out my
Quantum Accurists. Just for the heck of it I took it out in the driveway
last night and played with it. I think I had a 5/8 oz jig tied on it,
and
its spooled up with 50# Power Pro. I set the magnetic brake to the free
position and started practicing pitching and flipping with it. Wow! I
could
really slam a pitch and it just wouldn't back lash. I started slinging
overhand cast as hard as I could without even turning the reel sideways.
At one point I backed of the spool tension almost until the tension knob
fell off. I did get it to backlash a couple times, but I was really
trying.
It does not cast as far as my Quantums and certainly not as far as my
Pflueger President, but it was impossible to backlash when pitching or
flipping, and difficult to backlash even casting.
Sounds great, do they make it in a left-hand version?

I can't find that model at all now.
