The longer you wait, the harder it will be to ever open it. I mean, if
you didn't open it for *that*, how can you justify opening it fot
*this*?
Although in a different universe altogether, I had a similar problem
with a couple bottles of wine. Not just any wine, mind you, but three
bottles of homemade blackberry wine. I'd sampled a few bottles right
after it had matured sufficiently, and it was damned good stuff. So
good, in fact, that I determined not to drink it all up too soon, but
to save it for the *right* occasions. So down in the basement they
stayed. No situation seemed right. Then I knocked one over & broke
it. After several years of moving them out of my way while they
gathered more dust, I just said screw it & pulled the cork on one for
no reason at all. It was still great, and it tasted just as good as if
it were a special occasion, which it turned out to be.

Bringing home 2 bottles of Bordeaux and a Chianti Classico tonight.
Different brands of Bordeaux I had not tried, as decided good time to try
them. Made it to the driveway when the bag broke. Both bottles of Bordeaux
broke. Not the reasonable Chianti.
