Yah, fer shure. She's headed fer the two-fut, so just clean 'er,
'kay?

I love the one commentator:

"Ohhh, that was a bad shot. Terrible shot. I don't like that shot
at all..."

I like the way he says, "Was that shot any good?" when someone
hits a
great shot. Typically understated Canadian.

BTW, Carol says that those two commentators have been announcing
curling as a pair in Canada as far back as she can recall. IMHO,
they really add some great flavor to the broadcast.

The thing I like best about curling is the pace. I mean, how many
sports do you know where a spectator (or a participant, for that
matter) can be there for the start of a play, go out for a
smoke.....and maybe a sandwich and a quick shower.....and be back in
time to see how it ends?

they need to tweak the halftime shows, though.

I love the community strategizing. Reminds me of darts, where the whole
team has something to say about what point you should cover next during a
cricket game.

Darts is another "sport" that you can participate in with a beer in one
hand and a cigarette in your mouth.

I vaguely remember my league team in Cleveland went to some match in a
Downtown hotel. They had about 20 boards set up in a large conference
room, with kegs in the middle of the room. Far too many pitchers later,
we found ourselves in the final throwing for first. Came in second--to
many pitchers. Tough to pace yourselves just right when you don't know
how long it will take to get eliminated.
