Default What keeps you from entering a BASS open?

Only half of them Fritz, lol.

The amatuer entry fees for an open are $400, but you can figure on spending
closer to a grand before all is said & done. All that to ride in the back
of a boat. Big fun, seriously though. You may need a AOBP membership too,
but I'm not sure.

There are amateur openings still for the Northern Opens, which start the end
of the month on Lake Erie at Buffalo.

Warren would know best, but as I read the rules $200 entry fee for a non
boater....and then lodging and espenses at the tourney site for 6 days
or so + your gear.

Am I missing any fees Warren?

You can enter on line at:

http://proxy.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/members/
tournamentRegistration?tournamentGroupId=2

(Must be a BASS member and have an on line username)

With BASS promoting the heck out of their open tourneys, I'm curious
what stops you and or your friends from entering one?

Cost?

Time off work?

Fear of finishing in last place?

All of the above?
