I haven't been having a very good year at all this year (2006) with the
trout. The rivers are very low and the fish are really spooky. I have
sighted some beauties including a trophy fish but have been unable to entice
them out of their cover. Pre Christmas however was a much different story
with the Thredbo river below the hatchery really causing me to have some
adrenaline attacks mainly using copper and hair nymphs. Lots of grass
hoppers around so if you are coming up this way at all include hopper
patterns, , humpies and stimulators..
