As a nympher, I have to agree. But/however, I have used cane with a
nymph or two. d;o)
I must say, as someone who has regularly fished those shrines of dry
fly fishing, the Test and the Itchen in England, the blunt fact is that
dry fly is a hell of a lot easier than nymph. I'm glad to say that my
club, which owns the rights on quite a lot of these waters, allows
both, and only asks that you use whatever is reasonable and suitable,
and asks that you use what they call 'skues nymphs' (unweighted,
basically).
So every so often I try nymphing, but I was brought up on dry fly, and,
as I say, this nymphing business is too hard for me....
