Good luck Ken... it sounds like your's is already worse than mine. It's only
the tips of my fingers that get numb right now... except maybe the whole
pinky finger.

Hi Charles
Like you I thought I'd wait till next fall but after my surgeon explained
the progression of my problem to me I decided to go ahead and bite the
bullet. The Doc told me that the damage progresses in stages and not
gradually like I thought .And since my lower forearm becomes numb as well
as my hand I didn't see any alternative but to have the surgery and get
it over with. Guess I'll sit today and fish tomorrow

Whoa... the doc seemed all too willing to schedule carpel tunnel surgery
for me, but I told him that I'd return when it just became too
unbearable. I still make my living with my hands, and love fishing too
much to want to go that long recovering. (BTW: They don't do both hands
at the same time.)
Good luck Ken and let us know how you are making out. I'll schedule mine
during the winter months.... if I do.

Last year was by far my worst year fishing since I took up the sport of
fishing again. It seemed that I was always late on hook sets and I lost
a ton of fish bringing them to the boat. I have had problems with my
thick hands for several years but I just blamed it on old age and a life
of construction work. Last week my doctor said I have severe Carpal
tunnel and need surgery. Tuesday morning I get
Carpal tunnel and a Ualder[sp??] nerve release in my elbow. Anyone else
have this?.How long before you regained your feel? Anyway now I have an
excuse for all the zero's I had last year. At least it's not terminal
:-}} Doc said I'd be down 4-6 weeks and then we would talk about the
right hand after I healed up
So I'm done till May
