Default Plastic trailers on spinnerbaits...need your help!

I must preface my remarks by saying that I am a novice when it comes to
spinnerbaits. That said, I am definatly one opinionated SOB. I do not believe
in adding trailers to spinnerbaits (or trailer hooks for that matter).
My reasoning is that adding somethng which dangles behind the hook gives
the fish something to strike at without getting the hook. If the bass aren't
striking the spinnerbait skirt, that tells me I either need a different color
skirt or I need to replace it with something else. Some of the things i have
used in place of a skirt are grubs, tubes, sassy shad, even leftover pieces of
senkos. Two of my favorite are Cabela's Livin' Eye curly tail minnows and Yum
vibra-Tubes.
