Last week, I went through a blizzard. Today, we had some more fun, a
tornado touched down a little bit (less than a quarter of a mile) north
of me.

I spent the first 15 years of my life in the mid-west ( Kentucky, Ohio,
Indiana, Iowa .. we moved a lot, one of the reasons I grew up non-social )
and my most vivid childhood memories are all about the weather

My family lost 2 cars to trees falling on them, I came home from school to
find the TV exploded all over the living room from a lightning strike, the
hours spent each year in the basement with the adults trying to seem calm,
and, oh yeah the twister that took the roof off the place next door, but
barely scratched our house. That house had a detached garage on the alley
and the house roof was dropped arched over it like a second roof, I can
still see it in my mind.

Get one of those weather alert monitor deals and keep it turned on.
