Default A quick day out

Sun was shining, sky was a beautiful blue, temperature was in the low
sixties. I knocked the leaves off the trusty canoe and chased away the
spiders that took up residence over the winter. I was amazed that I was
able to find all my gear in minutes (being single, I'm allowed to keep
everything in a corner of my kitchen these days...). Total time from
thinking about it to gear loaded and backing out of the driveway (OK, not
counting the 10 minutes to u-turn so I could get the Internet fishing
license I should have printed out last MONTH) was 10 minutes. Spent 3
hours paddling around the pond working the kinks out of my shoulders,
re-learning the art of digging the paddle in to fine tune the drift, shaking
out the cobwebs in my casting memory. Got two bluegills on a black leech
(leech yarn and krystal Flash), and two more plus the first bass of the year
on a green gurgler (gurgler junkiehood reaffirmed). The wind kicked up
making it too much work to fish so we retired to the Underpass Saloon
(renamed O'Driscoll's in it's new 'Irish Pub' guise, which doesn't fool
anybody because the place is right NEXT to the farkin' underpass - where we
goin' drinking? At the Underpass - regardless of they call that bar these
days, I mean, come ON!).

Like goes on - and it can be SWEET! Unfortunately Timmaaay was occupied -
the poor bastid.
