Howdy,
Ran across this on another forum. It's a paper about the discovery
of a "new" species of wild trout in Mexico in an Atlantic drainage:
http://www.americanfishes.com/conchoswhitepaper.pdf
For more background on wild trout in Mexico, check out this
article:

From an *Atlantic* drainage. WOW.
Yep. It was well-established that there were trout in Baja, but
this is big news.
Thanks for the links. The best single source on Mexican trout I had was
the americanfishes.com page
http://www.americanfishes.com/mexico/
but the Hendrickson et al. article blows it away.....
Absolutely. I had run across the americanfishes.com stuff a year so
so ago as a result of someone (here maybe?) posting a link to the
illustrations, but this article does a great job of synthesizing all of
the previous research.
FWIW, my interest in all this is somewhat selfish. SWMBO and I may
wind up retiring to Mexico, and it would sure be nice to be able to
chase some wild trout there. But there's a lot of work to be done if
those fish are to survive.
