.....to another Trout season. Met up with Mike Makela on
Valley Creek to do some pre-production practice at the site of our
soon-to-be film debut. Both of us managed a half-dozen or more trout, none
huge, but some quite respectable for the little stream. Weather was
near-perfect, if a little breezy at times. We had a good time stumbling
along the banks and fishing, with a few risers and others taken from well
below the surface.
Ended with a fine Lager, and a quick toast to another
season, just underway.

p.s. We still have no real clue what we are attempting to
put on film, Wolfgang.....but, the thought occurred to me this morning
that if we were filmed angling for 3 or 4 hours, a creative soul could
edit
the raw footage down to a half-hour comedy, a half-hour of social
commentary, a
half-hour of local history and perhaps a bit of fishing.
It is said that a man that is fishing... usually isn't really fishing for
fish.
For myself, the fish is the excuse to be out playing in the water. They
allow you a goal and purpose to feed that inner little boy that wants to
play in the water and catch frogs and turtles.... the fish just let us look
more grown up about it
