because I love being in, on or near water. Also because of its zen
qualities - fly fishing can be both simple and complex.

entry level: a 5-weight outfit if you're starting out in rivers &
lakes. Something a little heftier if you're beginning in salt water
(7-weight).

best experience: catching my first fish on a fly (half pound bass!) at
a local river.

worst experience: hooked a PELICAN(!) - while fishing in Florida - it
must have caught a glimpse of my clouser minnow and DOVE FOR IT.
Flapping wings. Squawking. Tangled line. What a nightmare.
