Just a quick one..

They were keying on one of the miniscule
midges which I never figured out despite trying at least 15 different
flavors. Thinking they were taking a size 26 red spinner which I saw
frequently float by (and no match in my box). Eventually the evening hatch

Joe in amazement---you frequently saw size 26 spinners floating by !! damm
Mike you make this guy feel old--I've given up fishing with anything smaller
than size 16 and don"t use them in fast water !!!

Rough evening here.
fishing out of kayak around 5pm--four weight and small yellow popper ( maybe
size 10 } got a few hits and two good hook up on bass but lost both half
way in--think they spit out hook as I just did not set it hard enough---too
much slack in fly line --will learn to use Dave Whitlock's direct to the
water presentation.
So switched to spinning rig and hooked a mid size bass on small plug with
duel treble hooks--- as I tried to pick him up by lower jaw [ per tv shows ]
he leaped and two hooks caught my left index finger. -

Two hours later doctor at local med center dug them out.
reminds me of Jeff's story where he got hooked , drank for two hours then
Indian doctor dug out hook with comment --" next time you might want to
debarb hook before you fish!"
I had no chance to drink and after long wait my doctor [from Egypt I think ]
simply said--" this is going to hurt a little bit."

Danl--please tell Cindy I will always carry my hook removable kit in future
!
