Charles, I've been in the northern midwest in the summer. I'll take 110 in
the desert anyday compared to 90-99F and 99%+ humidity in some place like
Ohio or Wisconsin anyday. Down here in the desert we only get a couple
weeks of high (relatively) humidity. I grew up in the desert and the most
miserable weather I can recall is a summer I spent in Ohio. Well, the
fishing made up for it a little. Everywhere you look there is a pond or
river or stream, or even a deep bog.
