It's a guesstimate that works for most newsgroups in the Big 8.

I really don't know how it was derived but if you Google up
usenet arbitron readership you'll get more info than you want
to read.


I don't want more information than I want to read. How's about you just
summarize it for all of us.

I assume system administrators can monitor the usenet reads of their
users. If enough of the system administrators pooled their data you
can put together a decent approximation once your sample size is
large enough.

Sys admins like to know these type of things, I'm sure that's where
the guideline came from.
