Stained water

Over the past few years I have been fishing bass tournaments in Michigan
and Indiana. I have had most of my good days on the water on clear
lakes. I fish mostly tubes and craws and sometimes a strike king seris 6
crankbait in perch pattern. But when it comes to stained water I always
seem to come in empty handed, I try the same baits along with slow
rolling a spinnerbait. What can I do to increase my catch?
When I hear "stained" i'm thinking water that has a little color to it,
but isn't really muddy. I'm thinking you can just about see the bottom
in say 5 to 6 feet of water? For this type of condition, I like a
Spinnerbait in dark colors with a single colorado blade. I also like
senkos, plastic worms, jigs and creature baits fished tight to cover in
colors like black/blue, black/red (red shad). black/chartruce,
black/brown, or brown and brown with blue, red, or chartruce. I
haven't had much success with greenish lures like watermelon ot green
pumpkin in stained or murky water. I have much better success with
those colors in clear water.
