Ken mentioned earlier today the hospitality one can find amongst the den of
thieves that is ROFF, and let me echo the same- in particular I'd like to
thank my gracious hosts Tim and Robin- I couldn't have felt more at home.
Awright, a TR !! Nicely done.
Good pic of Dave, I assume that's a Winston tucked up
under his arm but what in the hell is that orange thing
floating on the water ? I'd hate to think you took a
picture of someone bobber fishing with a Winston. ;-)
cough Whoops!
Ok, I confess I went to The Dark Side for that troutie and a couple of its
cousins. Age is taking its toll, my eyes just aren't good enough to see my
leader butt twitching, especially in heavy overcast conditions and fishing
under the trees like we were yesterday.
Fwiw, that's a 9' 4w 4pc Boron-IIx I had the factory roll up with my choices
for guides, grip, seat, insert, etc. It's a wicked sweet rod, you'd love the
action and accuracy. And it suffers ethical backslides without complaint ;-)
It was a true pleasure spending the afternoon astream with Tim, Stan and Bill,
and seeing George Adams again as he swung by to say hi. The threatening
forecasts never materialized as actual rain, a good thing as the river has
already running 6 to 7 times the normal flow, so we went about waving our
lightning rods and caught all four of the local trout: Rainbows, Browns,
Brookies and the occasional "Big Scaled Silver Trout". Then capped the day
with some Magic Hat Number 9 draft - on special, no less!
Ayup, a very nice day, indeed.
